OUR MISSION
is to create a space where fragrance becomes an experience. We will do this by curating a selection of indie and niche fragrances that inspire self-expression, storyteling and meaningful self-care rituals.
OUR VALUES & PHILOSOPHY
Fragrance is a form of storytelling. L'Air exists to celebrate scent as a deeply personal expression. The staff curates indie and niche fragrances which reflect voices, perspectives, and experiences from around the world. Guests are invited to follow curiosity and connect with fragrances that evoke memory, identity, and imagination. Each bottle carries a story, and we're here to help you find the ones that resonate with your own.
INCLUSIVE. PERIOD.
Fragrance is for everybody. L'Air is a place for exploration and experience - no gatekeeping, no judgement.
STORIES MATTER
Our selection is curated with stories in mind, from the inspiration behind a fragrance to the history of the entire house.
THOUGHTFUL DISCOVERY
We live for olfactive curiosity. Take your time, ask questions, and explore at your own pace.
FRAGRANCE IS IDENTITY
What do you want your fragrance to say about you? Discover what you actually connect to - we're not here to push taste or trends.
OBSESSIVELY INTENTIONAL
Every fragrance on our shelves is there for a reason. Many of the houses we carry are BIPOC-, woman-, and/or LGBTQ-owned. All tell an important story.
OUR OWNER
Hey. I'm Erin. I founded L'Air because, well, I'm a "frag-head" and nothing excites me more than helping others explore and experience fragrances. I've loved fragrance since my mother bought me my first bottle of Wind Song when I was 8. For more than a decade, I've been collecting and curating my personal collection; I've also been making perfume-related social media content since 2020. For years, L'Air was just a fantasy in my head - but I was too afraid to take the plunge and start my own business. And that's what we call "imposter syndrome." But with the support and encouragement of my family, I decided to embark on this journey so that I could help others fall in love with indie and niche fragrances.
Before L'Air, I worked as a fundraiser for 15+ years. It's something I fell into, and I'm proud of the important work that I did. But the daily work wasn't my true passion. For the first time in my life, I'm making a choice to dedicate myself to something I love. My therapist says that's a good thing, and I agree!
